Note: Published, URL linked, and privately shared Sagans are viewable but not editable by those viewing the Sagan. Viewers will be able to explore, download and engage with content within the Sagan. Additionally, Saganworks users who have been privately shared a Sagan or have accessed a published Sagan via the Saganworks Community will be able to add the Sagan to their Saganworks map. You can also share a url link to your Sagan with someone for them to explore without needing a Saganworks account
After creating a Sagan, you can share your Sagan three different ways:
- Generating a public web link/url that you can send to anyone (even non-Saganworks users)
- Publishing to the Saganworks Community for Saganworks users to explore
- Privately sharing to other Saganworks users via email
Sharing a Sagan In Map View
Click the Sagan to select it; you’ll see a few options appear on the right-hand side.
From here, select the Share icon to open the Sharing menu.
You can now do 1 or all 3 of the available sharing options:
Generate a public web link/url
To generate a Public Link for your Sagan, toggle the option to 'On' (note: it may take a few seconds to generate the link).
Once generated, copy the url by clicking the 'Copy Link' button.
From here, you can paste the link into a message or post.
Publish to the Saganworks Community for Saganworks users
If you're interested in publishing your Sagan to the Saganworks Community so that others outside your network have the chance to stumble upon it and explore it, toggle the option to 'On'
Other Saganworks users will be able to find your Sagan in the Community tab of the Sagan Palette:
Privately share to other Saganworks users
If you have a specific person you want to share the Sagan with (i.e. if you don't want the Sagan to be public), you can share the Sagan via email using the 'Share Privately' field. Just type or paste the email address into the field. Clicking 'Send Invite' will add the email address to the permitted list of users.
If you ever need to remove a permission, click the "Manage Group" link and then click 'Remove' next to the account you wish to unshare the Sagan with
Remember that sharing a Sagan gives permitted users the ability to view and download content from your Sagan but not to edit the Sagan itself (‘Read-Only’).
Sharing a Sagan in Sagan View
You can also open the sharing menu from inside of the Sagan (i.e. in Sagan View)
Click the hamburger menu to expand the options
Click the option to 'Share' and repeat the steps above
Unsharing a Sagan
Open the Sharing menu. Select 'Manage Group' and then click the 'Remove' button for all users you wish to remove access. Once access is removed, these users will no longer be able to access the Sagan or add it to their Map View. If they are currently within the Sagan when their permission is removed, this change will take effect once they return to their Map View.
You can also publish your Sagan to the broader community. To see how, check out Making a Sagan Public to the Saganworks Community
